Emmie & Kenny
Full disclosure, Emmalynn doesn't let anyone call her Emmie (she actually has a stuffed cat she named Emmie) but recently she has been calling Kennedy "Kenny" and I LOVE it.
I thought I'd write a little about each girl at the stage they're in now, things I don't want to forget and share some pictures I've taken of them lately.
Emmalynn; just turned 3; typical "threenager". She is SO opinionated and when she has her mind made up on something it is very hard to sway her. Buuut, she is also so sweet and caring. Always thanking people (she even thanked me for buying her sister a doll the other day) and she loves telling us everything. One time she was at a family party with her grand parents and as soon as she got home the first thing she told us was that her Grampie gave her some pop. She is incapable of keeping a secret or keeping anything from those she loves. Nate will get home from work and she will tell him exactly everything she has done that day, it is the sweetest. Em is so timid, will climb up the swing set, then not go down the slide because "its too hard for her", walks at the speed of a snail, won't swing because she fell once, has difficulty climbing up on her own bed, is basically the most passive toddler I've encountered. Since she was younger she's been obsessed with dresses and putting pants on her is a fight always. I've never met a toddler more particular about what shoes she wears, and if I try to pick something out without her she gets upset. As of lately she's been baby obsessed, asking Nate & I for a baby brother. Most of all I hope I never forget how often she tells me she loves me, that I'm her best friend, or compliments me. It's the best thing about her and I hope it never disappears. Along with her self-confidence. I pray she keeps those traits her whole life.
Kennedy; almost 18 months; baby or toddler?? She is SO big, as big as her sister. But so different. Kennedy is WILD, thats the best word to describe her. So brave, yet still baby-like. She is very attached to her momma and cries at the drop of a pen. Anything can upset her and she gets her feelings hurt very easily. She's not the best at sharing (that'll come, right?) but loves playing. She asks to watch TV almost all day long, handing someone the remote saying "Ariel, Minnie, or Moana" and if you put on the wrong show beware the tantrum. She knows what she wants and will do anything she can to get her way. At her age Emmalynn liked to play toddler games on our phones but Ken isn't as technology advanced as Em was. However, unlike Em, Ken runs jumps and climbs a lot more than Em did. One of Kennedy's favorite things to do is climb up on her chair and jump off. Or climb up on the fire place and scream "TA-DAAAAA", with these things she gets hurt and falls more than I'd like. She loves to eat, anything & everything in sight. If she's grumpy I feed her or nurse her and she will get a little pepped up. Right now she is experimenting with new words and learning how to talk and Emmalynn likes to help teach her new words, it is heart melting. Ken loves giving kisses, still likes being worn in my sling when she's tired (23 pounds is ok for my back, right?), and loves her da-da. Watching her grow everyday is a blessing to me.
I really was incomplete until I became a mama and although the days are hard, I'd much rather be where I am now than where I was before they came along. I was lost until Nate made me whole and gave me a whole new purpose. I'm so incredibly lucky to have these girls and to be their mama.
